After moving.

I had bad experience with OZ Moving company. First off all, workers moved very slow and my moving took two days which means my balance exceeded my expectation. Moreover, workers crushed my favorite big mirror. It is made by wood and expensive. They promised to repair it but no one show up to do restauration. I need you to take care about my mirror. I was working only with OZ Moving company for a long time I never expected such a horrible quality of work. I am disappointed. I need you to compensate the mirror cost.

Smooth & Cool & High Recommended

This past week I moved from my family home for the past 20 years to a condo. Minaj, the point person, was always in communication with me from floor to floor, room to room. I highly recommend Oz moving because of their communication, willingness to work with me and how well they just followed instructions. We had a lot more furniture staying due to staging and they were great with the adjustment. They also helped me move items within the house that were not moving out this go round. The back end was also smooth. I had all boxes color coded and they followed and set up the rooms perfectly! Will be using for my final move for sure. Even the garage door professional commented on how easy going the crew was. He was shocked for a moving company! Can't wait to book my next and final move with Oz!

Long-distance move from New York to California

Extremely careless-broke many things.

I hired Oz Moving for a household move from NYC to San Francisco. Oz broke and lost many of my things
(e.g. dining room table, lamp, coffee maker, chair, nightstand, tool box, humidifier, dumb bells), almost all of
which Oz packed themselves. I purchased the extra moving insurance that Oz recommended, but that
insurance has a $1,000 deductible and the carrier excluded certain items from my claim. Additionally, when
the movers moved my furniture into my CA apartment, they damaged the brand new wood floors,
which will cost thousands of dollars to repair. Oz failed to
take ordinary care in moving my things. They must have thrown the boxes around. Oz will only pay pennies to compensate me for they complete incompetence. In short, I'm out thousands of dollars and didn't get what I paid for.

Hi Antoinette. We are terribly sorry your property was damaged in transit. We do not know why your insurance carrier excluded items you claimed damaged, or the conditions of your policy. We do wish you the best in your new home.

Two pages of damaged goods, $300 settlement.

Worst moving experience EVER. There was so much damage to our personal property the claims list was 2 pages long. Broken computer monitor, damaged flatscreen, shattered antiques, and 7 chairs had legs broken off. Oz claims they offered us more substantial insurance, but NO ONE at ANYTIME mentioned additional insurance options. This company, by the way, was recommended by HelloMoved.com, so I wouldn't use them either if they are in business with companies like Oz.

TL;DR: customer service is lacking.

Whenever we move we expect that something might get damaged because we’re reasonable. I even paid the extra $100 for the additional insurance.

My chair was broken. I know what happened but was told it was already broken (it wasn’t). Several follow up calls and was told they’ll send a repair person; took the day off work and they fixed it but got glue all over the chair. I wrote it off because I know I’ll just get the run around again if I call back.

Also bashed a nice hole in my wall. Customer service first claimed the movers didn’t do it and then that I should get a repair quote.

For my mental healthy - I’m just done with them.

Terrible Job & Customer Service.

Terrible experience with Oz - very surprised since they came highly recommended and was a premium price. Paid for them to pack up my kitchen and fragiles and then transfer them to a personal truck I had rented. On top of a bad pack job, which is detailed below, I also had a pretty crappy experience with their customer service rep and GM - Alison and Nancy.

In their defense they will say that they were upset that the truck wasn't big enough to pack in all of our stuff. BUT, I was pretty flexible in leaving furniture behind - a pullout sofa, high table and TV stand. I don't think this justifies packing things up incorrectly to create damage to the items.

I have a attached a number of photos so you can see 1) the damages and 2) how things were packed up

Damages
- An antique chest was not wrapped up in the bubble wrap and was placed on top of another wooden chest - you can clearly see what happened
- The AC was not put in a proper place so the vent got dented
- You can see a medal rod sticking into a a wrapped bed frame, this created quite a scratch in the frame

Packing Issues
- The crew on the other side rightly pointed out that a number of heavy boxes were put on light ones
- Items that could pierce through boxes were packed in bad areas that damages boxes and could have broken items (we have no unpacked all the boxes yet so I'm worried that items are broken)

Items needed now
- When the crew arrived, we specifically asked them NOT to pack up a number of bags because we needed those items over the next 2 months. They said they would put them in boxes clearly labeled Open First, but about 8 pairs of my shoes and some other clothes were nowhere to found when unpacking. We had to rummage through ALL boxes after we unloaded and packed everything away - so an extra hr of work for the other crew. We did find some of my wife's stuff, but we never found my shoes as they are probably at the bottom of a box that was NOT labeled Open First. I now have 3 pairs of shoes for 2-months - or I will have to go back to the storage unit and pull everything out to try and find the box with them in it.

I also ended up paying over $100 for more boxes and packing materials that I wasn't aware of.

AMAZING MOVERS

I cannot recommend these movers high enough. This is the best move that I’ve ever had in my life, hands-down. They were very friendly, but more importantly they did the most perfect job packing moving and unpacking me. Not one single thing got broken chipped, or missing. I’ve never had a better experience with Movers and I have moved a lot. They were also very competitively priced on top of that.

Move from a house Westchester NY to an apartment in Greenwich CT

This was my second time using Oz Moving and Storage. After the first pretty complicated 4 part move for my daughters into NYC, I didn't hesitate to hire them again. My move went smoothly and timely. My team were on time, thorough in all details and extremely careful of the home I was leaving and the one I was moving into. They were aware and thoughtful of the rules of the building I was moving into and completed my move within my window and promptly removed all packing supplies while being respectful of my new neighbors. They were helpful in placement of my furniture and happily shifted things to my liking if it wasn't just right ( my OCD). Every ask was met with a response of no problem, of course, with a smile. Very professional team that showed up neat and ready to get the job done! Can't recommend them enough!!

Storage and Moving

The best storage and moving experience I have ever had.

Beginning with my first contact with an operator and then June our manager the move was outstanding. We had a family emergency requiring our move with very little notice to Oz. June was exceptional so quick to respond to answer all my questions and coordinating our move. The delivery team exceeded my expectations in every way. All furniture was carefully wrapped for transport. Upon arrival the delivery team was exceedingly careful unwrapping all items and placing them in my garage. Some items they even re-wrapped with plastic since they were being stored in my garage.

The whole Oz experience was fantastic. They showed up on time within a provided 2 hour window and a phone call about 30 minutes prior to arrival.

Just fantastic.

Thank you June and the whole Oz team for a job exceedingly well done.

We will certainly use Oz in the future.

Best,

Glenn

Excellent experience

This was my 5th time using Oz moving in 5 years and had an excellent experience. I used the packing and moving service, with walk-up apartments on both ends. The movers were prompt, packed everything neatly and carefully, and moved everything up and down stairs like a pro. They unpacked furniture on the back end and took away a bunch of the boxes which was a huge help. The price was exactly as quoted – no hidden fees or mark ups.

Truly made my moving experience so much easier. I only wish I could get a discount for repeat customers as I have had to move so often!

Building Elevator Restrictions stress.

The building I was moving into had a 2 hour window where I had the elevator reserved for my move. I packed everything according to the instructions, everything in boxes, and wrapped fragile items so the movers could grab and go. They arrived 10 minutes after the 1 hour window given. The foreman acknowledged the limited window. They didn't seem to be any hussle in the speed, and frankly there was no incentive because I couldn't pay a flat rate. In the end we didn't not arrive in the reserved time. I had to beg management to accommodate me, not a good first impression. The hourly rate reached my high end budgeted amount, which I would have gladly paid to have been on time. Despite the slow speed and minor scuff marks on walls and scratches to floor I gave the 3 movers a 20.5% tip. I could have done without the stress of the time issue. Prior to the move I did call management about the exact amount of boxes and items, assurance were given I could make the move in window.

I don't think competition could do better. It is a factor you need to be aware of.

Do Not Use This Company!!

We recently moved from Queens to the East side with Oz Moving. The initial walk through with the salesman was pleasant and built up a lot of confidence. Then once the movers arrived we still felt confident.
However, after about 3 hours of them packing our furniture (and after we gave them tons of good food and drink) they started acting completely unprofessional. It started out as an overall attitude, but it turned into much more. This long and drawn out nightmare of a move has too many details for here, but for your sake, I will bullet point a few of the occurrences. All of this was from one bedroom apartment to another. Not a big move!
-They underestimated how much furniture we have--and therefore did not send enough movers. This made the move last until 1030PM!!They started at 9:00AM!!
-They scratched and ruined several of our most valuable pieces of furniture (to their credit they have a great carpenter who fixes the damage--but there shouldn't be such damage in the first place)
-During the move, there was constant misconduct. So much, that the building told us that if they have one more problem with the company they will not let them move into the building again.
-I caught one of the movers cutting side jobs with one of our neighbors!! No joke, he was in a neighbors apartment helping the neighbor with something while he was supposed to be moving our stuff!!
-The things that we packed on our own came back okay, EVERY ARTICLE that they packed came back with a defect.
-Towards the end of the move, when it came time to pay--at 10:30PM!!, the movers started laughing at us to our faces in our living room.
-Worst for last--We moved in the summer, and went away right after we moved for a month. When we returned, we realized that after this horrible move, our winter coats never arrived at our apartment (we had them pack and deliver all of our winter coats). I right away called the "customer relations" lady Nancy (who in general has a chip on her shoulder), and she gave me a vague--"I'll look into it" answer. In the mean time I made sure with my old super that it wasn't accidentally left behind at the old apartment--it wasn't.
I didn't hear back from the "customer relations" lady for a week. Called her up, she barely remembered the case and said it isn't relevant if it's a month later but that I could fill out a claim. I filled out ANOTHER claim. When I called to ask about the claim, she started accusing me of lying, and saying that I am just trying to get money from them, and that I cannot prove anything.
I told her if she wants to know about the misconduct she can ask the building management. Then, she starts yelling at me that I am trying to bribe/blackmail her and how dare I threaten her. I was in complete disbelief!! I had to then calm her down, instead of her calming down the customer.
My experience with Oz storage is not over, because they still have not agreed to help even try to locate my winter coats, and have said that none of my insurance will cover the items THEY LOST!
Oz Storage is one of the worst customer relations experiences I've had and by for one of the most unprofessional companies I've ever dealt with. I do not like writing reviews, and I really don't have time for this, but for your sake--stay away from the OZ Moving!! I wish someone would have told me.

Horrible experience!

My wife and I just moved from Manhattan to Las Vegas and contracted with Oz Moving Company. We paid almost $1000 for professional packers. I should add, as another person's review indicated, we were misquoted initially. The rep for them, David Donen, misquoted almost $1000. (apparently they also give "incentives" to realtors who recommend their company, which David is in charge of I later found out) When the items arrived to our new residence there were many problems. An antique chair was broken. The chair was only wrapped in blankets, after we were told that it would be packaged to protect it. The wood arm broke as well as an ornate piece on the bottom. Another modern chair was also chipped due to not being packaged well. A bottle of shampoo was put into a box with our vacuum and subsequently exploded all over it. Many items were packaged in this manner and not at all packed professionally. Many of the boxes were bent and not at all labeled correctly. Lastly, 2 lamp shades were shredded on the inside due to poor packing. We trusted Oz's "professional packers" with this job and paid for this "expertise" which we feel we did not receive. We left multiple phone calls for Oz and did not receive a call back.   .

Quote and Move.

After checking Angie's list I telephoned Oz Moving.  I was quoted a price and told that the time I wanted to move might not work as "he knows my building" and a move at 12-3 would mean I couldn't use the elevators.  I told him I would get back to him after I talked to my building.  The sent me a quote by email. The following day,Friday, July 3rd, a Holiday, while driving I received a call regarding the move and told him that turns out, of course I could use the elevator at that time.  He balked (Lamar) and said okay let's book it. I explained I was driving and it was the holiday weekend and would get back to him on Monday. His words"OH, that time slot may be filled up by then" in an effort to force me to sign now..1st red flag!Monday morning, just now I telephoned 8.40am to book. NOW..I hear from whomever answered the phone on "unfortunately, for that date the price went up. Of course, not the, line that they would be booked  up that I was told on Friday." What? "oh its on the form we sent you." "you mean the email quote?" "Can you please show me where?" "oh, I see its not on there, but unfortunately, now the price is $1,500 as the quote is only good for 24 hours."  I"m sorry no one told me about the 24 hours and NOW you are telling me?Okay, here's what I'm going to do, NO, I am not using your service, You lie to me about this 24 hours, about a move time, about my slot might be taken and NOW increase the price $300 and you think I'm going to trust you to move my things? So, now I've wasted time speaking to this miserable company and have to find a move for 3 weeks from now.  Disgusted with this lying company.Told them I would be writing a reviews.

Lost Two of my Boxes, Refuse to Take Responsibility.

After much research on cross-country moving companies, I chose OZ MOVING for my relocation from Southern California (Orange County) to Southern Wisconsin (Rock County) late June/early July 2016. I chose OZ MOVING over the other moving companies I consulted notably because their moving practice involves tagging/labeling all moving boxes, (supposedly) ensuring that no boxes are misplaced or lost. Despite this, OZ MOVING company lost two of my boxes and has refused to take responsibility for these losses. The boxes that were lost include irreplaceable books and my life's research, specifically, ten years of quantitative and qualitative research materials. The company has communicated to me that because no malicious intent was involved, they cannot be held accountable for the boxes they lost and the items they further damaged (the movers also damaged/broke several other items in the move: dishes, glasses, a vase, a bookshelf, a picture frame, ceramic art, etc.), offering to reimburse me a measly $170 for lost and damaged items on a $4,000 move. It bears noting that the operations manager, CARLOS, further forged the paperwork (specifically, the company's carbon copy of my itemized moving list) to make it appear as if the boxes they later lost never existed--an act that constitutes fraud. I urge all potential clients of OZ MOVING to reconsider using them for your moving and storage needs; indeed, these people are scam artists. Not only did OZ MOVING company lose two of my boxes and further damage my other items, but the claims manager, ALLISON BELLO, ghosted my phone calls, in which I attempted to follow up on the lost boxes and further process a claim with her office. Her supervisor, NANCY ZAFRANI, who I was only give access to after I threatened legal action, also claimed (after speaking with the company's owner, she noted) that the company is not liable beyond the standard insurance they offer (really, require) on all moves. To this effect, Allison/Nancy report that they are following protocol, but seem to be sweeping under the rug the fact that their operations manager and movers did not follow protocol in their accounting and delivery of my items. (The original movers even left the moving van unattended after they collected my items in California to moonlight for a random passerby that requested their help with his own move.) I never take the time out of my very busy and hectic life to write a review, and am doing so now because I sincerely hope to spare others the personal and professional damages that I have incurred.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Denver, CO

Even after doing extensive research.. came up short.

This was our first BIG move so I did extensive research as I had heard horror stories about companies passing off moves to third party companies and the new company asking for more money before unloading. I had seen the OZ moving trucks throughout the city and had specifically asked whether our items would be delivered on an OZ labeled truck (yes!) I had also asked whether OZ employees would be responsible for the move from beginning to end (yes!) and we were told that it would take UP TO 10 business days (which really means 2 weeks- with weekends). GET AN EMPLOYEE TO COME AND GIVE YOU A VISUAL ESTIMATE. Ours was very accurate and there weren't any additional charges that I could see.

Load in went well, they came at the time we were told and were very thorough and efficient packing and wrapping our things and getting them to the truck. 4 flights of stairs in NYC is not easy work, we were very happy.

Drop off: Our items sat in storage 8 days after we gave them notice of availability. The employees couldn't give us a time of arrival other than "up to 10 business days", come to find out that apparently we were being held at the warehouse until other deliveries to our same state came through. This meant the delivery came at 7pm on the last possible day the delivery was promised. When chatting to the delivery men, we found out that they were indeed a third party company from our new home who traveled out to pick up the shipment. They asked me to make the second half of the payment and show them receipt but the website OZ gave me didn't have a confirmation page. I pushed through the payment several times but didn't see confirmation that it was accepted, so I ended up giving the delivery man my CC number to have run through the system on the other end as OZ 24 hour customer service was not capable of running my card?? (whats the point of having the office open if the person can't do anything? Anyways. A few corners on our wooden furniture were damaged and even though our couch was carpet wrapped, saran wrapped and then taped, it has a small cigarette burn in one of the cushions. Small incidents that weren't even worth claiming at $0.60/lb, but annoying and completely avoidable.

After dozens of phone calls and emails, I think the long distance department probably memorized our number via caller ID for the amount of discrepancies, questions and problems that came about during our move. Moving is a stressful time and I would hope that the "professionals" would be upfront and tell you everything that you need to know in order to have a safe and stress free move. Apparently unless you scour the internet, ask 1000 questions and chase up every little detail, nothing gets done. So I don't know if it's just OZ or the entire industry, but I felt cheated and upset at the end of the day with dirty footprints going through my nice clean carpet and a huge pile of cardboard on my front lawn.

Great way to start at a new house.

Do Not Hire - Awful Experience.

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF HIRING. Beyond awful experience. Manhattan to Manhattan move.

Movers stole $$ from my kids piggy banks!! They stole champagne from the fridge that we'd set aside to celebrate the end of the move. They broke, chipped, cracked half of my dinner service, multiple vases, broke lamp shades, broke the frame for a painting, scratched furniture. They brought a truck that was too small for all items. They were so late the super in the new apartment would almost not let them finish as they passed the reserved service elevator time frame. They broke the front door on leaving - wrenching the door off of the hinges. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF HIRING.

Felt like I was getting hustled from start to finish.

I hired Oz for move from downtown NYC to Upper Manhattan. This one a one bedroom apartment move - not very complicated. The movers arrived on time and immediately the hustle began. I was quoted 1,600 for the move - apparently this was the busiest day or the year - but when the movers showed up the foreman pulled me aside and told me the move would take considerably longer - most likely an additional four hours (> $1,000 increase), but if I took care of him and his guys, they would work hard to get it done within the time I was originally quoted. He told me he expected at least a 20% tip and they would get it done.

The whole thing was one long, dramatic, street hustle - the guys who showed up manufactured a stressful situation, pretended like their estimator was an idiot, and they would save the day - but they wanted extra cash.

Oh, and thanks for stacking the book boxes on top of the wine glasses - I love cleaning up broken glass.

LESSON LEARNED - DON'T USE OZ MOVERS. THEY'LL HUSTLE YOU FOR EVERY PENNY.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to San Francisco, CA

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I had hands down the worst experience with Oz Moving & Storage — ranging from being lied to and bullied and having items ruined.

I was mis-sold services by the sales rep Bill (who is no longer with the company). He told me various untrue things that would be part of my moving package, including that the company had HQ and storage facilities in San Francisco, that Oz Moving was familiar with San Francisco in general regarding city ordinances, and that my items would be stored in San Francisco and not New York City. I even had to use an email from Bill to prove to the Oz Moving that I was not responsible for calling the city of San Francisco to reserve parking space for the moving truck. No customer of any moving service should be responsible for coordinating with any city for parking space.

I complained to customer service and had an extremely unpleasant experience with Shadeequah and Allison. Shadeequah spoke to me on the phone with attitude that should not be held for anyone in customer service, almost in an bullying attempt when she said "Oh I know your account." She was extremely rude and unhelpful in the matter when I complained. I escalated the issue to Allison, who was further unhelpful. When on the phone with Allison, I had told her of my experience with Bill and the movers that picked up my items in New York -- her attitude was extremely poor and not conducive to anyone in the customer service industry. When I mentioned that I was in California and the time she was calling me at was an early hour, instead of apologizing or saying thank you for letting me know, she had the audacity to spew "Well how as I supposed to know?" which tells me that she should not be part of the customer service team and should not be customer facing. The attitude of the customer service reps was astonishingly bad.

Furthermore, items were broken and ruined. The condition of the boxes was atrocious - you can tell that Oz Moving did not care of how they stored my items or loaded the boxes to the the truck -- boxes were smashed, handles were broken off of plastic bins and suitcases. My couch was ruined due to the dye from the blankets used to wrap the couch bled onto the couch's fabric. When I had professional cleaners assess the damage of the couch, they even said that “reputable moving companies doesn’t use such shoddy blankets in moving - the dye doesn’t transfer if the blanket is of quality material.”

It was shocking how bad this company is at providing moving services. I felt used and manipulated by Oz Moving and would warn anyone that uses that - beware of poor customer service and moving services.

They’ll break everything.

One of the worst moving experiences. Personnel were pretty rough with the move. Damaged one corner of my cupboard, rolling my items across the building hallway, and worst of all broke my expensive TV!

They said they’d use a Tv Box to transport my TV, but nada.. nothing! It simply was moved with a cloth covering and now I have a damaged screen.

I’ve used other movers before who were far more gentle and offered better care.

It was my mistake for not taking the additional insurance, but who knew they’d completely skip the TV box. Extremely unprofessional!
